Baby Morelock
Relocating from Bend, OR to Portland OR (324 miles)
Initial Backstory
"On April 9th, 2026 our lives changed when we received the heartbreaking news of our unborn daughter’s CDH diagnosis, during her 20 week anatomy scan. We will forever be impacted by this day, and we will never forget the heaviness our family felt in that moment. The initial shock, grief, and fear of this diagnosis overwhelmed our household. However, at the same time we had a burning fire within us to learn as much as we could, and ensure we did what we could to give our daughter the best fighting chance she could have. Throughout this process we learned that we would need to relocate 324 miles away from our home, in order for our daughter to receive the care she needed, as our local hospital doesn’t have the means of treating and caring for CDH babies. We have a 15 month old son, and the thought of having to leave our home for our baby girl’s treatment caused us so much stress, and anxiety. However, we knew we would do whatever we needed to do in order for our daughter to get the care she needed. We have prepared as we can for relocation, but the unexpected costs have become overwhelming. We sought out resources and assistance, as our goal for relocation is to maintain our livelihood and to continue to provide a stable environment for our 15 month old. We will use these funds for hotel expenses, gas expenses, medical items that may not be covered by insurance, and everyday necessities while we are both out of work. Throughout all of this, one thing has continuously brought us peace, our faith. We have been blessed with our sweet daughter, and we firmly believe she was gifted to us and created perfectly in the eyes of Our Creator. We continue to pray for her and every parent who has ever known the fear of receiving a heartbreaking medical diagnosis, and that they are able to find peace knowing God is holding us all in His hands."

"I have officially relocated, and have been away from home for 10 days. I have been living in a hotel, away from my fiancé and our 15 month old son. They are expected to arrive tomorrow, and I am so excited for our family to be together again. While relocating has been hard on us as a family, we know it is the best decision for the health of our unborn CDH baby. With relocation costs adding up, we are so grateful for the support and help we will soon receive from the Eden Calhoun Foundation."
