Initial Backstory

"We found out around 20 weeks give or take that our baby boy had CDH. We contemplated what to do over and over, mainly our options about where to receive great care coupled with logistically how we can manage a relocation. But we settled on relocation to Florida, after hearing tons of positive stories at the JHACH. We made the decision, and have managed to do this with 3 kids, ages 4, 6, & 8. We are proud of them during this transition, and we are happy with this decision. We are lucky to stay here at the Ronald McDonald House East, and the staff and accommodations have been well received thus far. We are humbled to hear others similar experiences while staying here and will forever be grateful of some connections/memories we have made along the way."

"Oliver has made some great strides. After getting off the ventilator extubated, he began his feeding journey. It’s been an extremely up and down, back and forth process, but he has finally reached a point of no TPN’s, no lipids, and 70mL bottles. He may get his pic line out tomorrow if he shows a weight gain. Then discharge is soon!"
