The Troutman Family

Initial Backstory:

This application is for my baby Elijah Troutman, who is due August 1st. Elijah has been diagnosed with LCDH, with the stomach and intestines in the diaphragm. To help Elijah survive, he will be delivered and cared for in NYC at Columbia, which is 7 hours away from home. Mom and big brother will be relocating to NYC June 26th until baby is born. Dad will come back home to work for a few more weeks and then join. This grant will greatly help us with the cost of travelling this great distance, as well as help with food and other expenses that will come up being so far from home. These funds would allow mom to be by baby's side every day at the hospital without worrying about the cost of food while still paying bills to keep things going at home.

Update 8/27/25

We just got discharged! After just 3 weeks in the nicu, Elijah has overcome surgery, and recovered quicker than anyone expected!
